After Telangana, Maharashtra invites Elon Musk to set up a manufacturing plant

Jayant Patil, Maharashtra State Water Resources Minister and Head of the State’s NCP today invited SpaceX owner and Tesla CEO Elon Musk to visit the state

“@elonmusk, Maharashtra is one of the most progressive states in India. We will provide all necessary assistance from Maharashtra for you to establish yourself in India. We welcome you to establish your manufacturing facility in Maharashtra, the minister tweeted, a day after a similar proposal was put forward by Telangana.

In his tweet, Mr. Patil said Maharashtra is an ideal place to invest as it is one of the most progressive states in India. “We will provide all necessary assistance from Maharashtra for you to establish yourself in India.

We invite you to establish your manufacturing facility in Maharashtra,” Mr Patil tweeted.

A Twitter user asked Elon Musk when the car would be launched in India, but Musk said in a tweet that he faced some government regulations.

Earlier, KT Rama Rao, who is Telangana’s Minister of Industry and Commerce, also urged Elon Musk to set up units in India, saying he would be “happy to partner with Tesla to meet the challenges”.

Rama Rao’s response came in response to a tweet from Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk a few days ago, in which he said Tesla was facing many challenges in starting a business in India.

“Still going through a lot of challenges with the government,” Musk tweeted Jan. 13 in response to a Twitter user who had asked about Tesla’s business plan in India.

“Hey Elon, I am the Minister of Industry and Commerce of Telangana State India. Will be happy to partner with Tesla to meet the challenges of setting up in India/Telangana. Our state is a champion sustainability initiatives and a premier business destination in India,” Rama Rao said in response to Elon Musk’s tweet.

Elon Musk announced in 2020 that Tesla would set up electric vehicle manufacturing units in India. A subsidiary of Tesla named India Motors and Energy Private Limited was established. The company is based in Bengaluru.
