Harger, founded in 1960 and headquartered in Grayslake, Illinois, provides solutions for lightning protection and grounding of electrical equipment. “The company’s experience spans all facets of these systems, including engineering, system design, product manufacturing and installation,” said the announcement from the Cooper office. “Harger serves a wide range of industrial markets, including utilities, railways, oil and gas and renewables, and data communications, among others. The company’s expansion into Robeson County will support new product lines for both grounding and lightning protection.

A performance-based grant of $ 75,000 from the One North Carolina Fund will help facilitate Harger’s expansion in Robeson County. The OneNC Fund provides financial assistance to local governments to help them attract economic investment and create jobs. Businesses do not receive money up front and must meet job creation and capital investment goals to be eligible for payment. All OneNC grants require a matching grant from local governments and any award is contingent upon meeting this condition, the announcement says.
