Sonoma Collection hires new COO
SONOMA, CA (Jun 30, 2021) –Kayla Berthoud joined the La Prenda Vineyards team as Director of Operations (DTC). With extensive experience and knowledge of both sides of the wine industry (oenology and wine business), Kayla is delighted to open the new La Prenda tasting room, implementing a DTC program including a club of wine and unique tasting experiences.

Kayla’s passion for wine and winemaking began at a young age growing up in the heart of the wine industry. Born and raised in the Sonoma Valley, Kayla began tending her family’s vineyards and making wine with her father, Mike Berthoud, as far back as she can remember.
After earning a Bachelor of Science in Viticulture and Oenology from UC Davis, Kayla traveled across Europe, where she worked a harvest in production at a winery in Switzerland. Kayla then returned to Sonoma to begin her career in the wine industry. Over the years, Kayla has worked to build her skills in hospitality, wine trade and direct-to-consumer management at wineries such as Mayo Family Winery, Three Sticks Wines, and Larson Family Winery.
In 2019, Kayla switched back to wine production by accepting a position as Assistant Winemaker under the direction of Richard Arrowood at Amapola Creek Winery. After the sale of Amapola Creek, Kayla remained as a wine assistant not only for Amapola, but also for B. Wise Vineyards.
