Manufacturer recalls one lot of Great Value Brand Buttermilk Pancakes and Waffle Mix

TUKWILA, Wa. – A single batch of Great Value Buttermilk Pancake and Waffle Mix was recalled Saturday by Continental Mills due to potential for foreign object contamination, according to the United States Food and Drug Administration.

The FDA said in a press release that fragments of a cable used to clean the processing chain have been found in a limited number of products with the following attributes: UPC 078742370828batch code KX2063Best by date 09/01/2023. Those who have purchased units of the mixture with a matching UPC, lot code or expiration date are urged to discard the product or return it to the place of purchase for a refund or replacement.

Although the FDA said the product has since been distributed nationwide to Walmart stores, there were no reports of consumers encountering a contaminated mixture at the time of this report.
