Second Line Brewing Launches Limited Edition Tap Handle For MSY Common Lager

NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana – Second Line Brewing is thrilled to announce the release of a Limited Edition Faucet Handle to promote one of its latest market offerings, MSY Common Lager.

This easy-to-drink amber-colored infusion takes its name from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) three-letter code for Louis Armstrong International Airport in New Orleans, MSY. Celebrating New Orleans’ proud aviation history and the newly opened state-of-the-art MSY terminal, this unique aviation-themed faucet handle was developed in conjunction with Full-Service Scale Innovations New Orleans-based industrial design and manufacturing company.

Scale Innovations, an industrial design company with unique equipment, specializes in early stage product development and specialty manufacturing. “We are thrilled to be working with a company like Second Line that elevates what made in New Orleans can mean. Our goal with this design was simple; to do something that reflects the quality and spirit that Second Line puts into each of their beers. It’s that same feeling that continues to draw people from all over the world to our city – you just can’t find anything else like it. »Founder of Scale Innovations, Lyle LeBlanc.

The 1950s aircraft propeller concept of this grip is reminiscent of the golden age of air travel and the long history of commercial aviation in New Orleans. Serving the New Orleans area since 1946, MSY was built on land named Moisant Stock Yards, named after aviator John Moisant – hence the IATA code MSY. John Moisant was an award-winning pilot who founded a traveling air circus with his brother, performing in air shows across the country, including Kenner, LA. Over the years, the name of the New Orleans airport has changed several times, until it was named Louis Armstrong International Airport in 2001 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Louis Armstrong.

“Long the gateway to New Orleans for travelers from all over the world, MSY has welcomed and introduced countless millions of people to this charming, magical city we call home,” said Mark Logan, Co-Founder of Second Line Brewing. “As a result, MSY has become a New Orleans password for travelers and locals; able to conjure up memories of good times, fantastic food and great beer.

“We considered many of the traditional options available for the design and production of faucet handles, but we knew we wanted a faucet handle that made an impact, captured the allure of air travel, and served as a centerpiece on the towers. draws throughout the New Orleans area. Logan said. “After considering our options, we decided to partner with Scale Innovations, given their exceptional reputation and the fact that they are only a few miles from our brewery and we liked the idea of keeping the project in New Orleans. “
