RANDOM LAKE – WoodgeniX is undergoing a $ 3.5 million expansion on its warehouse in Random Lake.
The company is a design and manufacturing company that manufactures wood products and furniture for hotels, hospitality, long-term care, residences and retailers. The expansion will add 25,000 square feet to the facility near State 56, bringing it to a total of 50,000 square feet.
The company will consolidate two existing sites into one so that operations all take place under one roof.
“WoodgeniX will no longer lease Wayne Schueller’s 35,000 square foot downtown Random Lake site, leaving space available for other businesses to lease,” a press release said.
WoodgeniX CEO Paul Golden said the expansion is expected to make room for new technology and equipment.
“We need additional C&C equipment,” Golden said. “We were also looking at new technologies, such as 3D manufacturing capabilities as well as thermoforming. “
The company has invested approximately $ 1.5 million in equipment over the past two years as well as an additional $ 1 million for new equipment that will be added during the expansion.
“We are really investing in the community, investing in our capabilities and engaging in Sheboygan County and Random Lake,” said Golden.
The company hopes growing markets will create at least 25 more jobs with the expansion.
Although construction has not yet started, Golden said the company hopes to clear the way by late December or early January.
The expansion is expected to be completed by the end of June, he said.
