Shirley Ann Johnson – American Press

Shirley Ann Johnson, 85, of DeQuincy, died Friday, December 3, 2021 at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. Shirley was born to her late parents, Marshall and Trudi Pace, on August 11, 1936 in Shreveport, Louisiana. She worked for DeQuincy News with over 40 years of service as a production manager. Shirley enjoyed bingo, pokeno, crossword puzzles, and reading. She especially enjoyed playing Canasta with the Fearsome Foursome, which consisted of Freda Johnson, Frankie Bell and her 60-plus-year-old best friend Annette Brown.

She is survived by her son, Jason Johnson (LeAnn) of Silsbee, Texas; and her two grandchildren, Colton Johnson and Corben Johnson, whom she loved very much.

Shirley is predeceased by her loving husband, Billie Wayne “Coach” Johnson.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at the Hixson-Snider Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at 2 p.m., with Bro. Harry Methvin officiating. Visitations will be held at Hixson-Snider Funeral Home on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 5 to 8 p.m. Visitations will resume at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment to follow at Perkins Cemetery.
