The Riverbank Theater began its musical series “The Addams Family” with its opening night on January 28.
“‘The Addams Family, a New Musical’ features the original characters you know and love from the original TV show – Morticia, Gomez, Uncle Fester, Lurch, Grandma, Wednesday and Pugsley,” said Brittany Everitt Smith, director artist and production manager of Riverbank. , who also runs production. “Little Wednesday Addams grew up and found love in the form of a very normal boy from a very normal family. The premise of the show is that Wednesday’s boyfriend and his family come to meet the Addams for the first time.
“Wednesday begs his crazy clan to act normal for one night so he doesn’t scare them away in a song called ‘One Normal Night,'” Smith continued. “Other memorable numbers include ‘Death is Just Around the Corner’ (and) ‘Crazier than You’.”
Auditions for the production took place on December 18, 2021. The cast includes Joel Frazee as Gomez Addams, AnnaLee Higgins as Morticia Addams, Sean Michaels as Uncle Fester, JM Ethridge as Grandma, Sylvia Stephens as Wednesday Addams, Hannah Turner as Pugsley Addams , Gary Gray as Lurch, Brian Ross as Mal Beineke, Diana Turner as Alice Beineke and Jacob Stoliker as Lucas Beineke.
Sydney Caroll, Ethan Dunsmore, Kerryn Graham, Matthew Muns, Ayres Went, Kaycee White and Gordon Whitney play the Addams ancestors.
Aaron Smith is the musical director and AnnaLee and Dan Higgins are the choreographers.
“This show has great music and a fun, fast storyline,” said Brittany Everitt Smith. “Everyone knows these characters, but it’s fun to see them on stage in a new story. It’s quirky, funny and, of course, a bit dark. It’s a show for adults, but young people Spectators are more than welcome.There is nothing inappropriate about the show.
The shows will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and at 3 p.m. on Sundays until February 27. Tickets are $30.
